Bibliography

Jacques Prevert hated to be labelled as a poet. All his life, he has fought in words against those who tried to call him such. When Prevert’s writings are mentioned, it’s mostly “Paroles” one talks about; some of these poems, learnt by heart at primary school, remain in one’s memory, shadowing the rest of his work. However, seven other pieces of work were published thoughout his life. Prevert has also written together with friends or artists whose views about the world and philosophy were close to his, be it an illustrator, a painter, a mixed-media artist or a photographer. Twenty-five co-produced pieces of work were therefore published.
